Even though spreaders have a fairly simple design, it is important to choose the right equipment which can serve best for the intended job. Several considerations should be observed when one is choosing a spreader. The size of the land where the equipment will be used should be one of the considerations.

Another factors to keep in mind is how the area to be fertilized is shaped. The shape is brought by absence or presence of curves, corners and lines. How sharp the corners and curves are is an important factor to consider. When the spreader is mechanized, how the land is shaped is more important to consider.

The terrain of the section being fertilized is also a crucial factor to consider. Another important factor to consider is the extent of precision that one is required to attain. Various products are manufactured with different degrees of precision. It would be best if the device can give room for control of the degree of accuracy and the quantity of granules released in unit time.

Another important aspect to look into is the cost of the item. The cost depends on the manufacturer, country of origin, size, fuel consumption, model and its accuracy among others. A large spreader which is more expensive is suitable for a big land. However, a person can opt to rent the device from rental shops rather than buying. The equipment should be returned once the work is finished.
